Aviation Day

Saturday, April 23rd

aviation collage for website

Four scouts from Troop 107 joined with other area scouts to work on their Aviation Merit Badge on Saturday.  It was a well-organized and fun-filled day.  Scouts were able to learn about aviation through a variety of experiences such as ground school class , tours of the runways & control tower, aviation fire truck demos, model airplane work, hands-on pre-flight plane inspection, discussions with a variety of aviation professionals, plus spend time with qualified merit badge counselors.

Many thanks to all the people at Tri-City Aviation, and to all the staff, pilots, air traffic controllers, security, and firefighters from Tri-Cities Airport.  We would also like to thank all the scout leaders, volunteers and merit badge counselors that helped to make this day a big success.

Hike in the Park

Saturday, April 9th

The troop and pack met at Rooster Front Park on Saturday afternoon for a fun hike in the outdoors.  We split up and took different trails before meeting back up at Steele Creek Park.  It was a great day for hiking…. not too cold…not too hot.

The cubs picked up trash along the way to help keep Bristol beautiful.

The troop hiked up some steep trails to help prepare us for our upcoming backpacking trip to Mount Rogers.

Merit Badge University @ Milligan College

Milligan MBU

Several scouts from Troop 107 spent the day at Milligan College gaining knowledge in several instructor-led Merit Badge courses, including:

  • Bugling
  • Traffic Safety
  • Reptile & Amphibian Study
  • Coin Collecting
  • Sustainability

Thanks to those that organized, taught, and hosted this event as this was an experience we would not have had otherwise.
