Wilderness Survival & Scouting Skills Workshop

August 16th & 17th we had a “Wilderness Survival & Scouting Skills”  weekend in Sugar Grove Virginia.  Several scouts completed the last requirements needed for their Wilderness Survival Merit Badge.  This included improvising a natural shelter and spending the night in it and building and lighting fires using three different methods other than matches.  Congratulations to those scouts that completed these requirements.

We packed a lot into one weekend…Geocaching, Fishing, Fire Building, Improvising natural shelters, Leave no trace, Outdoor Cooking, & Plant Identification.  We also worked on the fishing merit badge by each scout catching, cleaning, cooking, & eating their own fish.
